This lanky "güerro" with impeccable manners, speaks flawless English and understands the "American way" for he was educated in the United States, including Harvard University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Some years ago, Architect Pedro Urquiza, a native of Querétaro, Querétaro, made a conscious decision to design and build according to his love of Mexican architectural traditions. His barrel-vaulted ceilings and cupolas are reminiscent of the chapels and churches scattered throughout old Mexico. On occasion his inspiration comes from nature as well, such as the barrel cactus (viznaga in Spanish). Urquiza's work, frequently seen in magazines such as "Casas y Gente", always shows admiration and reverence for his heritage and consists invariably of breathtaking spaces.
